Why I Teach Yoga (And Why It’s Not What You Think)

There was a time in my life when I thought yoga was just stretching.
I thought it was flexibility.
Fitness.
Something you did to “stay in shape.”
I had no idea it would end up saving me.
Yoga didn’t come into my life because everything was perfect.
It came when things were messy. When I was overwhelmed. When I was tired of living in my head and disconnected from my body.
What I discovered is that yoga isn’t about touching your toes.
It’s about learning to feel again.
In a world that moves fast, demands productivity, and constantly pulls us outward, yoga invites us inward. It asks us to slow down. To breathe. To notice what’s happening beneath the surface.
In my classes, you won’t find pressure to perform or compete.
You’ll find space.
Space to soften.
Space to strengthen.
Space to release stored tension.
Space to reconnect with yourself.
Whether it’s Yin, vinyasa or hatha flow, breathwork, or sound healing, the intention is always the same: to help you come home to your body.
Because when you’re connected to your body, you make different choices.
You speak differently.
You love differently.
You live differently.
Yoga isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you were before the world told you who to be.
If you’re feeling stressed, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply curious — I invite you to come practice.
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to be spiritual.
You don’t need to be “good” at yoga.
You just need to show up.
And we’ll begin there.
See you soon at Paradise in Paradise - Hin Kong.
